Wally’s Desert Turtle is a fine dining experience you won’t want to miss! It’s located just a short drive from downtown Palm Springs, so if you’re staying in one of our Palm Springs Vacation rentals, it’s only a 15 or 20 minute car ride. This fine dining establishment is a creation of Wally Botello, who founded the well known chain of restaurants, The Velvet Turtle. The design includes sparkling lights, beveled mirrored ceilings, artifacts from Peru, and hand-painted murals that create a warm, inviting atmosphere of culinary elegance.

This full service fine dining establishment offers everything from Hors d’Oeuvres, soups and salads, entrees, pastas and delightful desserts.

They offer an extensive wine list from around the world by the bottle and a variety of wines and champagne by the glass.

Cold Appetizers include Scottish Marinated Salmon, Jumbo Shrimp from the Sea of Cortez, and Caviar, of course. Hot starters include Escartots “en Pomme de Terre” and Dungeoness and Blue Crab Cakes.

If you’re going for dinner, entrees range from a variety of fillets, to traditional free range roasted chicken breast, veal, duck, deer and lamb.

Desserts include a selection of souffles, Baked Alaska, Lava Cake, Creme Brulee and of course a variety of ice creams and sorbet.

The Giving Tree Holiday Donations At Koffi

As a company we have taken on one of the local charities known as “The Giving Tree” outside in the courtyard at Koffi. Items that children are requesting for the holidays are available to be taken, purchased, and returned to our office as a drop of location. Many of the requests are small and simple, from Crayons and Coloring Books to Barbies and Trucks.

Please invite people to be a part of the giving season and pick up a request to help make someones Christmas a little more special.

Dia De Los Muertos – Palm Springs Art Museum

Halloween is on it’s way, and the Palm Springs Art Museum is having a Dia De Los Muertos Celebration, also known as Day of The Dead, a holiday celebrated by many Latin Cultures.

Join the folks at the Palm Springs Art Museum for a free afternoon of festivities, celebration and art.

A Day of the Dead Procession begins at 11am at the corner of Palm Canyon Drive and Tahquitz Canyon Way. The procession includes a performance by Dazante del Sol, a troop of authentic Aztec dancers.

Activities from 11am to 330pm include Flores de paper (Paper Flowers), Mascaras (Masks), Papel Picado (Cut Paper Designs), and Corcholatas como arte (Bottle Cap Jewelry).

Throughout the day you’ll enjoy listening to Mariachi Azteca de Oro Jose Valdez, Teatro Negro con Titeres, the Ballet FOlklorico Sol des Desierto, DJ Pepe and XKlusive Mobile Music.

This is a day of remembrance and celebration of loved ones who have passed on. The families remember stories of their loved ones through vivid imagery, traditions and telling stories, recognizing that death is a part of life.

El Paseo Art Walk

If you’re staying in one of our vacation homes during the season and you’re an art lover, consider driving 20 minutes to El Paseo on Palm Desert for their Art Walk.

El Paseo Art Walk in Palm Desert happens every October through May on the first Thursday of the month from 5pm to 9pm.

Galleries on El Paseo host artists receptions and feature new exhibits Collections include Western, American Pop, European Masters, Early California and many contemporary artists. It’s a great place to pick up some art for your home or collection.

L.G.’s Prime Steakhouse

L.G’s Prime Steakhouse’s is one of Palm Springs’ locally owned restaurants. Their commercials are a standard on Palm Springs television since the early 90′s. They call themselves “Prime” as it’s the best standard the USDA has for beef.

They offer nine different prime cuts of beef at their restaurant. Other items include fresh fish, lobster tail, chicken breasts, and a table-side Caesar Salad! Their wine list has over 500 selections, making it the largest wine list of any steakhouse in Palm Springs.

So, if you love a thick steak and a great glass of wine, this is a great choice for dinner while you’re staying in one of our Palm Springs Vacation Homes. They also have locations in La Quinta and Palm Desert.

Highway 62 Art Tours

HWY 62 Art Tours: Open Studio Art Tours is 2 weekend long event honoring all of the visual arts. The Tours showcase artists, performers and musicians.

The Tours allow visitors to visit working art studios, purchase affordable original pieces directly from the artists and plan what studios and artists they want to visit, as well as galleries or museums they want to see.

Also included are choices of entertainment venues, special events and theatre shows happening each night of the event.

A new restaurant has opened recently in Palm Springs. Trio, formerly the home of Boscoso, a Palm Springs Favorite and is now becoming a new locals choice!

They offer a casual yet energetic ambiance, serving great American Food including selections such as Calamari, Sea Bass, Cheese Tortellini, Lamb Shank, Filet Mignon and New York Strip Steaks. They even offer a blackened Angus Burger and a Crabcake Burger with Myer Lemon Aoli if you’re in mood for a burger.
